Develops student's competence and confidence in talking, listening, reading and writing. The class English programs are supported by Support Teachers Learning Difficulties (STLA), for students experiencing difficulty with their learning as well as public speaking, writing |

Mathematics |
Develops students’ mathematical thinking, understanding, competence and confidence in the applications of mathematics. The syllabus is organized into the strands of Number, Patterns and Algebra, Data, Measurement, Space and Geometry and Working Mathematically. |

Science & Technology |
Develops student's knowledge about the natural and made environments through investigating, designing, making and using technology experiences. There is a strong environmental education and technology theme in this School. |

Personal Development, Health & Physical Education (PDH&PE) |
Programs focus on encouraging students skill and fitness development to make informed decisions related to health and physical activity and develop positive attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle. This program has a well developed sporting component as well. |

Human Society
& Its Environment |
Develops the student’s knowledge about the people and the social and physical environments in Australia and other parts of the world. Students develop particular skills in acquiring information and in social and civic participation. |

Creative &
Practical Arts |
Incorporates Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance and is the learning area in which students develop their capacity to create and interpret images and objects, language and movement, and music. |

In addition to the teaching of the six Key Learning Areas, schools provide experiences across the curriculum that help students develop understandings of:

Languages Other Than English
The school offers opportunities for students to
learn another language and its culture within the school program. Currently
Indonesian is taught to students in Yrs 3-6.
Technology
All students in Years K-6 have access to computers in their classroom and
the Library. In addition, all classes are rostered for computer lessons in
the school’s air conditioned Computer Room where networked WINDOWS CD Rom
computers are available for instructional use.
Computers are supported by an extensive range of educational software
designed to integrate computers and computer education into classroom
programs supports technology. Students use digital cameras, CD projectors
for power point presentations and video cameras.
Upgrading of software and computer facilities is ongoing. All classrooms are
linked to the internet and the school intranet.
The Department of Education and Training monitors and controls access to
non-educational sites to protect the students from undesirable material.
Students, in conjunction with their parents, are required to sign a “Code of
Conduct” agreement before internet access is permitted.
Performing Arts
Ulladulla Public School is committed to enjoyment and excellence in the
Performing Arts. The School provides many opportunities for children to
discover and develop talents and interest in a variety of Performing Arts.
Apart from class/grade music, dance and drama activities these include the
specialist areas of: Percussion Band, Choir, Dance Groups and Public
Speaking.
Students are encouraged to participate in a range of performing arts
competitions, external workshops and camps designed to encourage students to
reach their potential in their area of interest and expertise.
Religious Education
All students can attend Scripture on Thursday morning from 9:25 am -
11:10am. Teachers from Anglican, Roman Catholic, Uniting, and Buddhist
religions
Release from Face to Face teaching (RFF)
Teachers are entitled to two hours per week RFF for planning, preparation an
parent meetings. Ulladulla Public School has teachers who teach Science, Art
and Music Technology programs to students during these times.
Physical Education and Sport
The school actively promotes physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. It
aims to develop skills in movement, co-ordination and physical activity.
Children are taught fundamental movement skills, dance, modified games and a
large variety of other sporting skills.
In Kindergarten, Years 1 and 2, students participate in fitness lessons with
a specialist sport teacher promoting a wide range of PE activities with an
emphasis on Athletics/Games day.
In Years 3-6 students participate in fitness lessons.
They also attend Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals held during
the year to select children to participate in Zone, Area and State
Carnivals.
